Guatemala City is the ideal place to get acquainted with the culture and atmosphere in before exploring the country’s more rural locations.

After a three to four-hour ride winding through peaceful plains and sleepy towns, your Guatemala itinerary brings you to Chichicastenango where you’ll find some of the largest handicraft markets in the region. Stroll through vegetable and craft stands. Absorb the cultural fusion of the Spaniard Catholic Church and indigenous Mayan heritage. Take it all in!

From there, you’re off to Lake Atitlan – “the most beautiful lake in the world.”
